Poetry Slam
Miles Merrill
Whether you're a performance poet, an actor or someone who just likes to get up on stage and give it a go, we want you!
The inaugural Macquarie University Poetry Slam is a live literary competition where performers are given two minutes in the spotlight to speak, scream, howl or even whisper their original poem, rap or story... whatever they want to do with words in front of a live audience.
Judges are chosen randomly from the audience and the winners will win $900 in prizes, not to mention the adoration of a live audience.
Whether you are itching to become a contestant or happy to sit back and watch the fun, register your interest below now!

Everybody has a story to tell. You can just come along to watch the Slammers in action – or join in yourself if the mood takes you. You might even be chosen as an on-the-spot judge.
Refreshments will be served after the event so please register your attendance here (Registrations open to Macquarie staff, students and the public).
And just to get you in the mood here is a poem written by Miles Merrill especially for the Macquarie Slam.
