Macquarie is a university on the move. It's our aim to push Macquarie into the top eight research universities in Australia and the top 200 in the world. And we're well on the way - boosting our research effort and ensuring our learning and teaching is of the highest class. Our efforts have been recognised in the most recent Shanghai Jiao Tong University Academic Ranking of World Universities, with Macquarie moving up 17 places from 286th in the world in 2007 to 269th this year. This jump was the biggest improvement among the universities ranked in Australia's top 10 in 2007.
